Growing seasons have changed in modern times

Post by Brian Millar » Wed Jul 11, 2018 3:04 am

I tend to look at the bigger picture, world wide upon most things, taking the collective into account and take notice when I see patterns, and in this case it's noticing the climate change that the planet is currently enduring. I am not at all the group that blames mankind for it, nature has it's cycles and they happen over a very long period of time, some we notice others it's more subtle. Lately the past few years have been pretty dramatic. Along with just the natural cycles we are dealing with planetary magnetic field shifts which have thrown things significantly off course.

What this means is that the seasons we are used to, have changed both in their times and extent but also intensity. There is more last moment planning on the gardeners part since you do not know if it's going to be more appropriate for cold weather or hot weather crops until things start to reveal what to expect this particular year. At the same time, there are new varieties of vegetables and fruit that are more commonly grown other areas but now are growing in places now proving to be conducive that were not prior, so that little chart on the seed packet, pretty much throw it out the window at this stage along when to plant and how long the season is going to be to harvest them.

It's good to expand your horizons along what you plant and not take it too personally when the crops you had success with years prior, suddenly become much tougher to keep healthy. It's easy enough to take note of and change with the times and cycles, also nice to explore gardening different types that you never have before.

Thank you, have you personally noticed the change of temps and seasons on your end?
